our story
In 1987, Phra Nang Inn began as a small family hotel in the quiet beach town of Ao Nang, Krabi. We can still recall the dirt roads in front of Phra Nang Inn, and the sight of locals digging up seashells on Ao Nang Beach in the late afternoon.
It has been nearly four decades since our family began our journey as hoteliers, and the second generation has continued to build upon the dreams of the first.
Over the years, our guests have become good friends, and our staff have become extended family.
The beginning
Our story begins with love, and proceeds with love: the lifelong love between our founders, the love of a growing family, the love for the sea.
Preecha and Paradee, once university professors in Bangkok, left academia to embrace life in Southern Thailand. As a young family, they spent weekends exploring seaside gems like Kanom and Phuket, eventually falling under Krabi’s spell.
They fell in love with Krabi’s quiet charm, dramatic karsts and beautiful seascape. Ao Nang and Railay Beach became frequent holiday spots for them.
So when the opportunity arose, they purchased a seaside plot and created a small inn to share Krabi’s natural beauty with families and adventurers alike.
Our Philosophy
Vacation Village began with a vision: to create a ‘village’ for vacationers — a collection of small hotels dotted across Thailand’s most beautiful locations. These havens would connect guests with nature and local culture while offering warm hospitality and the comforts of home.
From its roots at Phra Nang Inn, Vacation Village has grown to include Phra Nang Lanta on Koh Lanta’s Ba Kantiang Bay and Wareerak Hot Spring & Wellness in Khlong Thom, Krabi.
Keeping the Family Touch
In the early days, Krabi was off the beaten path, with no airport or paved roads. Preecha and Paradee personally took care of all their guests. Over time, these guests became cherished friends, and many still return today.
Beyond offering hospitality, the couple played a key role in promoting Krabi as a destination, helping to develop iconic attractions like the Four Island Tours and even importing Krabi’s first fleet of kayaks.
Vacation Village has been part of Krabi’s exciting growth from the very beginning. Although Ao Nang and Krabi have changed dramatically over the years, Phra Nang Inn still proudly maintains its friendly family atmosphere.
Acclaimed Beauty
Throughout the years, Krabi has proven itself to be an astounding destination. It first gained recognition as a Thai travel gem when four of its ‘Unseen Destinations’ were highlighted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
In 2007, Life magazine named Krabi one of the ‘100 Places to See in Your Lifetime,’ and in 2011, National Geographic honoured Koh Lanta as one of ‘the World’s Hidden Travel Gems.’
Today, thanks to social media and travel enthusiasts, Krabi has become a bucket-list destination widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the world. We are proud to have built our story here.

Vacation Village Phra Nang Inn
Inspired by the beauty of Krabi and Ao Nang Beach, Preecha and Paradee created Phra Nang Inn as a simple, welcoming home for travellers.
The inn was designed to harmonize with nature, and it remains true to its roots by offering clean, comfortable eco-friendly accommodations with a homey, personal touch.
One of the very first hotels on Ao Nang Beach, Phra Nang Inn has kept pace with the evolution of tourism and hospitality without sacrificing the personalised and welcoming charm that gave the inn its essence.
Vacation Village Phra Nang Lanta
A few years after the opening of Phra Nang Inn, Preecha and Paradee took the next step to expand Vacation Village. On Koh Lanta’s tranquil Ba Kantiang Bay, Phra Nang Lanta grew from the ashes of Sea Sun Bungalows after the 2004 tsunami.
In 2006, Phra Nang Lanta opened its doors to welcome guests. Since then, we have been delighted to share the slow life and peaceful island atmosphere with travellers from all over the world.
Wareerak Hot Spring & Wellness
Preecha’s passion for natural hot springs led to the next chapter in the Vacation Village story: the creation of Wareerak, a hidden oasis in Khlong Thom, Krabi.
This serene retreat blends hydrotherapy and the art of traditional Thai medicine to offer relaxation and rejuvenation. Soaking in the mineral-rich waters of our natural hot spring under the jungle canopy is an unforgettable experience.
Wareerak has grown from its simple beginnings as a rustic hot spring. Today, it is a resort destination like no other, complete with welcoming accommodations, a gourmet restaurant and spa services.
With its healing waters and serene natural surroundings, Wareerak Hot Spring and Wellness is the jewel of the Vacation Village network.
